About Us
Our Story
In 2015, a team of founders from the MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory at Michigan State University, together with Prabode Weebadde, set out to make plant phenotyping more accessible to researchers and farmers. Combining expertise in photosynthesis, biochemistry, computer science, and entrepreneurial leadership, they created PhotosynQ and its flagship device, the MultispeQ, to close the technology gap in agriculture and support global food security.
As the founding CEO, Prabode — together with his flagship company, Venturit Inc. — transformed PhotosynQ from a research project into a scalable global platform, building cloud-native infrastructure that seamlessly connected devices, data, and users. They also streamlined manufacturing and distribution to deliver the product at an affordable price, ensuring accessibility worldwide.
Today, PhotosynQ has grown into a global plant phenotyping ecosystem with more than 8,000 users in over 30 countries and over 280 peer-reviewed publications citing PhotosynQ-related work. Featuring cloud-based data collection, intuitive analytics, and the most accessible phenotyping device in the industry, it has become a trusted platform for both scientists and growers.
Under Prabode’s leadership, PhotosynQ is entering its next chapter — enhancing its features with the power of AI and AI agents to help users unlock deeper insights, maximize the value of their data, and accelerate solutions for global agriculture.
